The History Of Rossi Boots

The History Of Rossi Boots
Rossi Boots is an Australian boot company that been around since 1908 when Arthur Edward Rossiter made his first pair of boots in his backyard tin shed in Adelaide.
Arthur didn't stop there. Only a couple years later in 1910, after building his Unley Road Factory, he formed the company, Rossiter's Pty Ltd which is still owned by the Rossiter family today. Each successive generation has inherited the passion of its ancestors to make superior Australian Boots and shoes.

Let's take a closer look at what Rossiter's Pty Ltd has been up to over the past 100 plus years. In the beginning years, Rossiter's supplied boots mainly for those in the military but once their reputation grew, they started making desert boots, boots for sports such as cricket, work boots and dress boots. In 1915 Rossiter's supplied boots to the Australian army. In the 1930's Arthur's determination to keep his business surviving during the depression, had him travelling on the road to sell boots just to keep things running. In 1940's the Rossiter's boot business supplied 110, 000 army boots to the Australian soldiers during World War II.
Jump ahead another 10 years as this is when Rossiter's created their still famous, Original Ripple Sole Desert Boots. In the 1960's Rossiter's introduced their motorcycle range of footwear. In 1988 the Rossiter's business moved from the Unley site to their current headquarters which is located in Hilton, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. In 1990 Rossiter's Pty Ltd became Rossi Boots, which is the name their customers were already using. In 1993 Rossi Boots launched their Endura Air Cushion Rubber Sole. Since then the technology has advanced but the Endura principles remain the same. In 2010 Rossi Boots celebrated their company's centenary.
Today Rossi Boots is Australia's second largest work boot company making approximately 250,000 pairs of boots per year in which they employ only 90 staff members. The company uses computerized machines for cutting, sewing and attaching the soles of their boots. Replacing workers with technology was the company's way of avoiding the transfer of its jobs to other countries. Rossi Boots prides themselves on offering uncompromising quality and value of their product for your money. They use no short cuts to quality, and they always endeavor to select and use the finest materials to ensure that each boot is constructed to perform beyond your expectations. It's their pride, care and attention to detail that makes such a huge difference to every boot they make. It's a difference that Rossi Boots believes guarantees customer satisfaction.
